El eje central de Ciudad Emergente es la música que brota en cada rincón del Recoleta. De la maratón de recitales en los dos escenarios principales para pequeñas multitudes, a la intimidad de la melodía de las palabras y las canciones en “Poesía & Música”. De las perfomances de imagen y sonido en “DJVJ” y “Arte digital” a las expresiones plásticas de varios reconocidos músicos argentinos y una muestra fotográfica que es puro espíritu rock. Del ritmo de la cultura hip hop, palpable en los colectivos de arte y la danza callejera, a las nuevas bandas que se prestan a la votación popular del “Espacio Escuchá”. Con películas de rock que nos conmueven por grandilocuencia o minimalismo, con un espacio para leer de música y descubrir la producción independiente más reciente. Todo es música. |

There is rock and related stuff. Montado en los beats que dispara el DJ, convertido en figura esencial de la música contemporánea, apareció en los últimos años otra figura, la del VJ: un artista que genera un nuevo formato de estímulo visual. El dominio del software y la evolución del hardware son armas fundamentales de esta nueva escena, nutrida por artistas de diseño gráfico, animación, video y plástica entre otras expresiones. |
A new character has appeared recently: the VJ, an artist who produces a new format of visual stimulus. The VJ is a common character nowadays in clubs, dance floors, stages and tents around the world. Proper control over the software as well as over the development of the hardware is fundamental in this area. Artists of graphic design, animation, video, and fine arts, among other artistic expressions nurture this new field. This artistic duet, the DJVJ, already consolidated in flyers and screens, has stimulated the relationship between music and images, since it is part of the communication codes of the new generations. |

A Todo Volumen: Historias de tapas del Rock Argentino es una muestra basada en el libro escrito por Sebastián Ramos y diseñado por Marcelo Morán. Allí se reflejan cuarenta años de arte gráfico en el rock argentino, desde las primeras tapas de los discos de Moris, Manal, Almendra, Los Gatos y Pappo’s Blues, pasando por la estética de grupos como Virus, Soda Stereo, Los Twist, Patricio Rey y sus Redonditos de Ricota, hasta el diseño de última generación en formato CD, digi-pack y box de Babasónicos, Bersuit, Los Piojos, Los Fabulosos Cadillacs y Adicta. Un viaje por las portadas que ya forman parte importante del patrimonio cultural argentino. |

En este espacio de Ciudad Emergente, dicha fraternidad se subirá al escenario. En un formato íntimo y cálido, algunos de los más nuevos poetas y músicos presentarán sus versos y canciones. |
These two disciplines are artistic expressions very closely linked. Collaboration, friendship, love, mutual admiration: for one reason or another, poets and musicians usually share their paths. In this space of Ciudad Emergente, said brotherhood shall appear into stage. Some of the new poets and musicians will present their verses and songs so as to produce one of the greatest encounters of human expression: the encounter of the word with the melody. |

Nuevamente la danza forma parte del Festival, y será otra vez un espacio de encuentro, una celebración de la cultura de la calle. Porque desde allí emergen, en cada barrio, estos bailes que son rituales de supervivencia, modos de expresión generacional, pura contemporaneidad. Danzas urbanas que además de bailes, técnicas e improvisaciones son una forma de ser, de vivir, de formar parte “de algo”. |
Once more, dancing is part of the Festival. It also intended to become a meeting place, a celebration of street culture, since it is there where street dance rises from. It becomes a surviving ritual, a way with which every generation chooses to express itself. Urban dances are much more than different types of dances, techniques and improvisations. They are ways of being, of living, of being part of “something”. Based on this, this festival works as a field of body experiments and experiences, with ideas, with the power that the pleasure of seeing and feeling the passion of movement has. |

Las producciones e ideas de los nuevos creadores, tiene aquí su pasarela ideal. El desfile inaugural, Dancehall Dmode, estará relacionado con la cultura de la música reggae con diseños a cargo de Rasbastian, Zion, Aire de Jah e Ituzion. La música estará a cargo de Dj Rasflek y Miss Bolivia. Luego será el turno de los ganadores del concurso “Moda Emergente”, exhibiendo sus creaciones en desfiles de “estreno”. |
In this event, new designers would be able to show their productions and ideas. The opening fashion show, Dancehall Dmode, will be related with reggae music and its culture. Rasbastian, Zion, Aire de Jah and Ituzion are going to be in charge of the designs, and Dj Rasflek and Miss Bolivia are going to be in charge of the music. Then, winners of “Moda Emergente” contest will show their designs at fashion shows. |

Bienvenidos a una nueva edición de Ciudad Emergente, doblemente bienvenidos al cine dentro del festival o al rock dentro del cine, programa ultra-mega-nutritivo que este año, a tono con las tendencias, está a mitad de camino entre el Mundial de Cine Pop, las internas abiertas o las lisas y llanas antinomias, tan de moda ellas. Así las cosas, tendremos batallas para ver a máximo volúmen como el clásico Oasis vs. Blur, un curioso match “realidad vs. ficción” (a través de un documental y una comedia), Loquillo vs. Abuelo, Morrissey contra el resto de los Smiths, el espejo para detectar quién es más (dolorosamente) extravagante y (luminosamente) genial entre Daniel Johnston y Benjamin Smoke, y, finalmente, de un tramposo “ayer vs. hoy”, encarnado en el festival de Roskilde vs. el T.A.M.I. Show, tesoro reservado que quizás (quizás, quizás) sea la mejor película de rock jamás filmada. |
Welcome to a new edition of Ciudad Emergente, welcome twice to the cinema inside the festival or the rock inside the cinema, ultra-mega nourishing show that this year, in tune with trends, is in the middle of the road between the World Pop Cinema, the open interns or the pure and simple antinomies, which are so trendy. So, there will be battles to watch on full volume such as the classic between Oasis vs. Blur, a strange match between “reality vs. fiction” (through a documentary and a novel), Loquillo vs. Abuelo, Morrysey against the rest of the Smiths, the mirror to detect who is the most (painfully) outrageous and (brightly) brilliant between Daniel Johnston and Benjamin Smoke, and, finally, a deceitful “yesterday vs. today”, embodied in the Rockilde vs. T.A.M.I Show festival, a treasure that maybe (maybe, maybe) would be the best rock movie ever filmed. |

The expression of a new visual language, urgent and vital, has, like in other editions of CE, the chance to be shown “live” in the various cultural places of the Cultural Centre. El 2° Festival Ciudad Emergente presenta “Letras”. La propuesta es combinar por un lado poesía y música y por otro, un Espacio de Revistas destinado a la lectura y el ocio. Son cuatro días en los que ocho poetas se suben al escenario de a pares en un clima íntimo y junto a un músico y su instrumento (una guitarra, un teclado o una computadora). Demostrando el encanto de la conjunción entre poesía y música: dos de las expresiones más lindas, inquietantes, antiguas y nuevas a la vez. El “Espacio de Revistas” es un lugar para la distensión y el encuentro donde escuchar un poco de música y leer las mejores revistas de rock: Rolling Stone, Soy Rock, etc. |
The second edition of Ciudad Emergente introduces “Arts”, offering on the one hand poetry and music and on the other a Magazine Area. For four days, eight poets will enter the stage in pairs amidst a cosy atmosphere, accompanied by musicians and their instruments (guitar, keyboards or computers). They will attest to the delightful combination of poetry and music, two of the most exquisite and stirring expressions, at once ancient and fresh. The Magazine Area is a place to read and relax, a meeting point where visitors can listen to music and read the best rock magazines: Rolling Stone, Soy Rock, and more. |

The clothes a young chooses to wear portrays much more than an aesthetics decision or a decision based on the mood of the day: it defines a group of belonging, which bases its identity according to like, discourse, and cultural consumption. Consequently, all that comes from this ever changing area deserves to be shown. |

Muestra que recopila fotografías tomadas en las jornadas laborales, para los medios en que se desempeña Martín Bonetto, pero también imágenes tomadas en su vida cotidiana. Este material formará parte de un futuro libro, también titulado como la muestra. Según su autor, se trata de “una hemorragia fotográfica entre el sexo, droga, rock'n roll, la ciudad, amigos y familia...” Y anticipa: “en la muestra se puede ver un poco de eso. Pero no todo...” |
Fotorragia gathers together pictures taken by Martin Bonetto during his working days for the media he works for and also pictures taken during his daily life. This material will be part of his future book, also entitled “fotorragia”. According to the author, the exhibition will be a photographic flow of sex, drugs, rock'n roll, the city, friends, and family….” In the exhibition, the audience will see a bit of all of this, but not all of this…” he states. |
